Canon Photography in the Parks Photo Contest

Canon U.S.A., Inc. is encouraging non-professional American photographers to visit their national parks and photograph their beauty. The Canon Photography in The Parks Photo Contest started gathering photos from May 15 till September 30, 2009.

The contest is open to any legal U.S. resident. Canon will have two contest divisions for photographers between the ages of 13 and 17 (Teen), and a separate division for adults ages 18 and older (Adult).

The grand prize winners (1 Teen and 1 Adult) of the Canon Photography in the Parks Photo Contest will receive the luxury vacation package for two, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II with EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Kit and the PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II Photo Printer. (Note that the EOS 5D Mark II Kit alone is worth more than $4000.)

There are photography workshops held for this contest. Since "Inspirational Nature Images" is the theme of the contest, all workshops will be at Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Acadia National Parks.

For more details, visit Canon USA.

PS. We trust that PowerShot cameras have the potential to win the competition.
